2004 Yarden Reserve Syrah, Ortal Vineyard
What the Pros say: This wine is aged in small French oak barrels for eighteen months, approximately two-thirds new. The wine shows off an array of characters including blackberry jam, fresh herbs, ripe black and red fruits,
all rounded out with nuances of spice, earth and oak. The wine’s intense flavor complements its full body. Syrah tends to have a bit of a “wild” side to its character; pair it with foods that have a bit of exotic spice to them, such as a lamb shoulder rubbed with exotic spices. Limited edition
KWO Interpretation: This wine has been critically acclaimed and has been referred to as the best Syrah ever made in Israel. If you are looking for an exciting kosher wine, here it is. Super rare and hard to find, this is a one time opportunity to stock up on this collectable wine!

2004 Yarden Reserve Merlot, Ortal Vineyard
What the Pros say: The 2004 Yarden Merlot Ortal Vineyard combines strong blackberry, cherry and raspberry fruit notes with nuances of fresh herbs, dried flowers and orange zest. A background of rich oak helps frame the sensory picture. The wine is quite concentrated in flavor with good body and a long, complex finish. While enjoyable now, Yarden Merlot Ortal Vineyard will continue to improve in the bottle for years to come and should stay in great drinking condition for a decade or more from the vintage. The wine’s rich character pairs well with something served with a red wine reduction sauce, such as a rib eye roast, or a stew cooked long with roasted stock bones.
KWO Interpretation: A manly bottle of Merlot! Even the Wine Spectator, which reviews the finest wines in the world, had some nice things to say: "A rich, ripe red, with focused flavors of blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate. Very supple on the finish, with plenty of grip and notes of espresso and mineral."

1997 Gan Eden Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Mendocino, California
What the Pros say: "Our 1997 Gan Eden Limited Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of surpassing elegance and style. 100% varietal, it was created entirely from fruit grown at Eaglepoint ranch. The vineyards are the highest and steepest in Mendocino County. This is true high-mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. It is highly extracted, and this makes for a long-lived style of wine which is not for everybody, tight and tannic. However, 1997, as a vintage, was noted for supple tannins, and it worked to favor accessibility in these grapes.
KWO Interpretation: This wine is old, but it comes from one of the greatest vintages in California's winemaking history, and wine itself was built to age. Nice fruit flavors and smoothness, which would really complement a variety of foods. This wine is easy to drink and is presently available at a huge discount, even below release price back in 1999! Screaming deal!

2007 Baron Herzog Zinfandel Late Harvest
What the Pros say: "The old vines of Pescador Vineyard, located in Lodi, California, produced flavors for this late harvest wine that display a rich texture and a luscious sweet berry fruit finish. The wine also features a full-bodied mouth feel and well balanced structure. A Mevushal delicious dessert red wine rich with sweet fruit yet easy on the palate with a lingering flavor that does not overwhelm. Best Served With: Full flavored spicy fish, turkey and chicken."
KWO Interpretation: A fun, easy to enjoy light bodied dessert wine. I think that it pairs well with chocolate desserts and fruit, or enjoyed on its own. Not to be aged, enjoy it now, slightly chilled. This will be a quick sell at your table!
